A vigil for slain British MP Jo Cox has been held at her constituency town of Birstall, a short walk from the spot where she was fatally shot and stabbed.
People from different ages, cultures and religious backgrounds took part in the packed ceremony at St. Peter's Church on Kirkgate.
Among the 400 participants were Labour MPs Yvette Cooper, Rachel Reeves, Dan Jarvis and Caroline Flint.
Flowers were laid close to the place where Cox was attacked.
The Vicar of Birstall, Rev. Paul Knight, said the brutal attack was a reminder of the "fragility of civilisation." He added that even in times of despair, "there is no escape from the love and mercy of God."

The Bishop of Huddersfield, the Right Reverend Jonathan Gibbs, said people had been left “overwhelmed by shock, grief and a sense of loss.”
“We are here for each other and I know and I hope and I pray that we will be here for each other in the days ahead," he added.
The All Saints Church in Batley posted on Twitter a picture of a single candle with the hashtag #PrayForJoCox.
Cox, who was MP for Batley and Spen, in West Yorkshire, was holding a surgery session for local constituents at the local library when she was shot twice and stabbed. She was rushed to Leeds hospital by air ambulance and she was pronounced dead at 1:48 p.m.
The 52-year-old attacker, named locally as Tommy Mair, was arrested.
